About Us

   Why a Pet Food Pantry?
    
    The Friends of Windsor Animal Care and Control Inc is a 501-(c)3 non-profit, volunteer based organization that was formed in January 2011 after a group of Windsor residents joined together to keep our dog pound from being relocated out of town. After the Council agreed that the pound would remain in town our group of volunteers realized our work didn't stop there.
    During this process we learned that Windsor residents, the elderly and families, are in jeopardy of needing to surrender their pets at an alarmingly high number due to tough economic times. This is when our organization really began to take shape, we worked together and decided that Windsor and it's residents could benefit greatly from a pet food pantry. And so on July 18, 2011 The Friends of Windsor Animal Care & Control opened Windsor's first pet food pantry.

    Donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated. Currently we are providing both can and dry dog food, can and dry cat food as well as cat litter. Currently we have a greater demand for cat food and litter.
